In support of Teachers – Emily Cherkin “It’s important to remember teachers are victims of EdTech too.”

As Emily Cherkin, The Screen Time Consultant says, Just imagine being a teacher today. Trying to inspire and connect with students while every child has a screen in front of them, each one a potential distraction.

On World Teachers’ Day we want to recognise the enormous challenges educators face in an age of EdTech.

As Emily Cherkin, reminds us, teachers are not to blame for what’s happening in classrooms. Many are being trained and told that “tech is the future of education,” only to find themselves in rooms full of laptops and tablets, struggling to keep children focused and engaged.

Studies show that teachers find this deeply frustrating, even demoralising – it hinders learning, drains morale, and drives many passionate educators out of the profession altogether.

The truth is, teachers are victims of EdTech too. They’re being sold a digital dream that too often makes real teaching harder, not easier.

💛 Let’s support our teachers, not the tech that’s taking over their classrooms.

🎓 We are thrilled to feature Emily Cherkin on our blog. Emily is a teacher, mother, advocate and author of The Screentime Solution. Emily calls herself “An Accidental Activist”. She is a powerful voice calling for balance, humanity, and true connection in education and we are proud to work with her.
